spotlight: cute workout clothes

as warm weather approaches and New Year's resolutions are being achieved, we are all rushing to begin our diets and workouts to be beach-body ready. I am at the forefront of these psychotic gym fiends because I have not one but TWO early beach endeavors (Cancun for spring break and Orlando, FL in April) which means I must work extra hard from winter through spring. up until recent, my gym attire consisted of old cheering soffee shorts, old cheering shoes (which were super light, perfect for running, but strained my feet), and old oversized T's. but with a new year comes new perspectives, which is why I am determined not only to get myself to the gym everyday (or almost everyday, let's be honest..) but to also look just as cute and stylish as I would outside of the gym.

Ashley Olsen was an inspiration; she was seen recently jogging in an unlikely outfit to be jogging in.. only an Olsen. why I love them.

I am, sadly, a sucker for Uggs because they are just too damn comfortable.. and warm.. and soft.. and cozy.. and warm.. did I mention warm? so I always like seeing Uggs paired with something other than sweatpants and a sweatshirt and this outfit is so cute, and most definately comfortable.. and warm.. and soft.. and cozy.. and warm..

when I first saw this picture, all I could see was her sunglasses coordinating with her jeans and loved it. as I scrolled down, it revealed her nails matching her shoes! amazing.

so chanel! very cute. I would love to get this (and probably will end up doing so eventually) it just will not stay intact; the chain will probably begin to come off with a few wears and washes. mysteriously, Forever 21 clothes do stay around for a while, they just wear away. that's what you get when you pay a small price for stylish it clothes.

dream outfit

this outfit has been brewing in my head since last spring, thanks to Lady Gaga. I have most of the items, minus the Ray-Bans, a nude top, a real MJ stam bag (its fake but I still love it! shhh) and those stripper shoes... sigh. they are on my wishlist.

I am all about layering a ton of jewelry, but for this outfit I thought it would be more appropriate if there was none at all, à la Lady Gaga. she is awesome, and this outfit is incredible. it is extremely sexy and risky, but the bow makes it playful and fun. minimal and natural looking makeup would work best with this look.

fashion bff: Carrie Bradshaw

being home for winter break means sleeping in, eating way more than I intend to, and watching TV nonstop. considering the only shows that seem to have airtime lately are Jersey Shore and shows about teenage baby mommas, I resort to on demand (which actually is not resorting afer all). Sex and the City has been on repeat as I fall back in love with Carrie's witty (and sometimes corny--but in a good way) dialogue and of course her quirky style. the first movie was okay, minus the amazing wardrobes, so I am just as excited for the clothes in the second movie.

she will forever be the epitome of crazy, fun, New York fashionista style, so this is the perfect opportunity to praise her power. here are some of my favorite looks by Carrie, all hail Carrie!:
